Not only movie lovers but people of two Telugu states Telangana and Andhra Pradesh got a huge shock when the names of Tollywood celebrities like Puri Jagannadh, Charmee Kaur, Mumaith Khan, Ravi Teja, Chinna,Nandu, Sham K Naidu,Tarun,Navdeep,Subbaraju and Tanish were called for interrogation by the Special Investigation Team over drugs pedaling. The Excise Department called the more than 62 celebrities for numerous rounds of interrogation and later went into silent mode.

During that time rumours spread that the charges against them are getting diluted and efforts are on to save them all. However during that time officials went on record that investigation is still on and charges will be framed on them.

Now shocking reports are coming out that charges against not one and two but all the 62 film personalities have been diluted. One RTI activist got the information from the Excise department that not even one Tollywood personality has been named in the four charge sheets that were filed in connection with the case.

Of the 12 cases registered, only four charge sheets were filed and in only one case, South Africal Ruffel Alex Victor, the cocaine smuggler, was named. He was arrested in August 2017.M Padnanabha Reddy of the Centre for Good Governance, who bought the most sensational drugs case speaking to scribes, says ' The celebrities were bailed out and the case is hushed up. Gullible people were named in the charge sheets for name sake"

He pointed out that the charges were diluted after a delegation of the Movie Artists Association (MAA) met CM KCR. He says “We have doubts on the investigation. We are exploring the legal options to see that an impartial investigation goes on"
